London Hospital Group Cements 15th UK installation of Orthocrat’s
TraumaCad in 2006
December 18, 2006 Orthocrat Ltd., a leading developer and provider of digital templating and pre-operative software solutions for orthopedic surgeons, continues to expand its presence in the United Kingdom healthcare market by completing its fifteenth hospital group installation.
Orthocrat’s fifteenth TraumaCad customer in the UK is HCA (Hospital Corporation of America GroupLondon), which includes the central London hospitals: Wellington Hospital, Portland Hospital, Princess Grace Hospital, London Bridge Hospital, Harley Street Clinic, and Lister HospitalChelsea Bridge.
“We have already experienced significant success in the U.K. implementing our digital templating software in the clusters of the "Connecting for Health" Programme (CfH), as well as in the private sector and independent sites,” said Zeev Glozman, the CEO and founder of Orthocrat. “Ian Wilson, our new U.K. business manager, with his wealth of experience, will help us expand upon our recent success in the U.K.”
Orthocrat entered the U.K. market in March 2005. Since then, its TraumaCad software has become a popular choice for National Health Service hospitals as part of CfH programme.
The CfH programme in the UK is working to improve patient care and services through a modernization of the country’s health care infrastructure. Over the next 10 years, the National Programme for IT will connect over 30,000 general practitioners in England to almost 300 hospitals, and give patients access to their personal health care information.
“Simply providing images to the desktop was not a solution for our physicians, particularly the orthopaedic surgeons, due to the high volume of preplanning and templating that is involved in their work. We also required ease-of-use and access anywhere across the HCA organisation so that there were no delays for the surgeons,” said Kaye Bonython, HCA Programme Manager (PACS) of HCA International. “We were delighted to find that TraumaCad fit our needs. Training was well co-ordinated and everyone has found it to be a more valuable tool than initially envisaged.”
In the past 18 months, Orthocrat has also installed TraumaCad at the following UK hospitals:
- Barts and the Royal London Hospitals NHS Trust
- Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust
- Coventry and Warwickshire Hospitals NHS Trust
- Kings College Hospital NHS Trust
- Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Trust
- Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust
- North West Wales Hospitals NHS Trust
- North Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust
- James Paget Hospital NHS Trust
- South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Epsom Hospital
- Milton Keynes General Hospital
- Aintree Hospital
- Broomfield HospitalChelmsford
- Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Trust
TraumaCad will soon be installed in three additional U.K. facilities: Countess of Chester Hospital, Calderdale and Huddersfield Hospitals NHS Trust, and Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust.
