ORTHOCRAT SHOWCASES TRAUMACAD 2.0 AT RSNA
Taking the Most Widely Used Digital Orthopedic Tool to the Next Level
Tel Aviv, ISRAEL Orthocrat will showcase the latest updates to its clinically proven software, TraumaCad, at the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA’s) 2007 Connecting Radiology Conference in Chicago. New and enhanced tools incorporated into the latest version of TraumaCad make orthopedic planning even more accurate and intuitive for surgeons worldwide.
TraumaCad 2.0 expands upon the feature-rich, user-friendly, Web-based functionality of the original version by providing additional resources that facilitate more thorough and accurate planning of foot, spine, hip, pediatric and trauma surgeries. The new version also offers more reporting options, including patient positioning.
“TraumaCad 2.0 enables even more intuitive planning of procedures regardless of their complexity. Its improved measurement, labeling and implant positioning tools were all developed by our experienced team of surgeons and engineers,” said Zeev Glozman, Orthocrat’s founder and CEO. “And our addition of multi language support reflects the growing popularity of TraumaCad 2.0 among orthopedic surgeons internationally. It has truly become the orthopedist’s choice, with more than 700 installations worldwide.”
TraumaCad 2.0 provides specialized templates that simplify planning for the most common types of orthopedic surgery. Upgrades include updated measurement wizards, an advanced user interface, a redesigned template library and semi‑automated templating tools.
"I have no hesitation in recommending the TraumaCad system to any institution that requires a robust, user-friendly and well-supported orthopedic image management tool," said Kaye Bonython, the program manager at HCA International, UK in London.
Other highlights of TraumaCad 2.0 include the following:
- 3D multi-planar reconstruction: Quartered split screen displays three two-dimensional images and a comprehensive 3D view that guides surgeons through all pre-surgical planning steps while allowing total freedom in visualizing clinical decisions.
- Trauma surgery: Improves implant manipulation with visualization of plate‑bending techniques, a wide variety of locking plates and grouping of implants and fragments.
- Spinal surgery: Facilitates preoperative planning for spinal deformity corrections, offers vertebra numbering and labeling and simplifies implant positioning.
- Total hip replacement: Incorporates a center-of-rotation tool and allows surgeons to visualize wear measurements, projected leg lengths and offset changes. Cup abduction and stem version are also available.
- Knee replacements: Additions to TraumaCad 2.0 include a tibia cutting tool.
- Foot and ankle procedures: Provides multiple measurement tools, including a wizard that assists in planning accurate foot osteotomies.
- Enhanced pediatric tools: Incorporates the Paley Growth Calculator module to predict the growth potential of children’s bones.
- Reporting: Offers improved preoperative reports including templated images, selected implants and a wide variety of measurement and patient positioning options. Also incorporates improved auditing, logging and contract monitoring support.
“TraumaCad 2.0 seamlessly integrates with any PACS. We have already deployed it with more then 20 systems. And it displays images from a full range of modalities, allowing surgeons to archive preoperative plans with patient files and view them in the operating room,” Glozman said. “Providing orthopedic surgeons with advanced, conveniently accessible software with the specific tools, instruments and implants they need to plan a full range of orthopedic surgeries ultimately shortens procedure times.”
