ORTHOCRAT TAKES ANOTHER STEP FORWARD TO IMPROVE WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT AT ORTHOPEDIC CLINICS WITH THE LAUNCH OF ORTHOFLOW

OrthoFlow provides a quick and easy way to distribute digital images with one time log-in to PACS; See in Action at SIIM 2008, Booth #1100

PETACH TIKVA, Israel – May 14, 2008 - Orthocrat Ltd, a leading provider of orthopedic preoperative planning software, will unveil OrthoFlow at SIIM 2008, a management tool that enables orthopedic surgeons to distribute their patients’ digital images to clinic rooms in less time and with less administrative hassle.  Integrated with major PACS, OrthoFlow’s solution increases efficiency while ensuring the highest level of security and privacy for patient information.

“The revolution in digital imaging has created a gap in the workflow at orthopedic clinics because surgeons have to log in and out of various data systems several times a day to locate and then distribute their patients’ images to clinic rooms,” said Zeev Glozman, CEO of Orthocrat.  “OrthoFlow bridges that workflow gap by giving surgeons easy access to their digital images anywhere in a clinic after just one time log-in to the PACS.”

Here’s how one-step OrthoFlow works: after an initial log-in at a diagnostic workstation, orthopedic surgeons can upload and review digital images and send them to a specific patient examination room. Once the surgeon enters the examination room, the selected digital images are pulled up on the screen with a simple swipe of an HID reader connected to the computer.  This eliminates the need to login the PACS again and repeating the search for data.  OrthoFlow saves valuable time that could be used to treat other patients.

After a successful year working with TraumaCad™ by Orthocrat, Connecticut Children's Medical Center has made the decision to enhance the orthopedic department workflow and install OrthoFlow. "The surgeons were looking for something to improve their PACS workflow drastically. OrthoFlow was found to be the right solution" said Mr. Thomas Mooney, Radiology Analyst at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

“It may not sound like much to save 1-2 minutes per patient, but do the math,” said Tzafrir Ben-Ami, OrthoFlow Product Manager.  “If you see 30 patients a day, OrthoFlow can save you up to an hour per day to see more patients or do other work.”

OrthoFlow also adds a high level of security and privacy for patients during clinical visits.  OrthoFlow’s imbedded HID reader locks the computer screen while patients wait in the examination room, ensuring that no one except the surgeon can unlock the screen and view the file.  In addition, doctors no longer have to search through countless files in front of waiting patients who may be alarmed by the images being reviewed or by those pulled up in error.

Orthocrat has set the standard in the digital imaging industry as a leading provider of software solutions for orthopedic surgeons. The company’s flagship product is TraumaCad™, surgical preoperative planning and digital templating software solution.  By introducing OrthoFlow, Orthocrat is now expanding its product line to improve workflow efficiency in orthopedic clinics.  OrthoFlow will be showcased at SIIM 2008 in Seattle, Washington, from May 15-17, Booth #1100.
